$300,000 in total player compensation will be up for grabs, while the ninth edition of the tournament tournament will be the first sporting event to be held in the Gouna Conference and Culture Center (GCCC).

Orascom Development Holding Group CEO Omar El Hamamsy said:

“We are thrilled to host the 9th edition of the El Gouna International Squash Open in GCCC“

The tournament comes as part of Orascom Development’s efforts to enrich the sports climate in Egypt, reflecting the company’s strategy to support young talents in various fields, and support them in reaching their goals internationally.

“For more than 30 years, we were keen to make El Gouna a hub for the most significant international sports events. The El Gouna International Squash Open… highlights El Gouna’s capability in hosting various cultural, artistic and sports events.”

El Gouna International Squash Open Founder and I-EVENTS Chief Executive Amr Mansi said:

“Given the huge importance of this tournament in the sporting season, which enhances Egypt’s opportunity to always host more international tournaments in sports and various fields, we feel a great sense of pride in hosting and organising international tournaments of this size. These tournaments definitely set a great example for all the talented youth to see first hand the world stars competing in Egypt.

“We are keen to adhere to the precautionary measures in a firm and disciplined manner, by providing sterilisation tools and applying the rules of social distancing among attendees to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.”

PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough said:

“The El Gouna International Squash Open is one of the most highly regarded tournaments on the PSA World Tour and I’m excited to see the action unfold next month.

“We were disappointed not to be able to hold the event in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic but, thanks to the work done by Amr Mansi, I-EVENTS and the El Gouna team, I’m sure this year’s event will make up for lost time.”

The ninth edition of the El Gouna International is organised by I-EVENTS in collaboration with Orascom Development.

This year’s El Gouna Squash Open has a prestigious lineup of sponsors, which includes big names from different industries and fields, including the Commercial International Bank (CIB) as a main sponsor and Carrier as a platinum sponsor.
