R3: Hania through against Rachel
 Hania El Hammamy (EGY) 3-0 Rachel Arnold (MAS) 11-5, 11-3, 11-8 (27m)
Hot. It’s not warm, it’s hot. And even at night, it’s hard for the players to breathe I’m told. And tonight, it would seem the Gazelle went and had a bit of trouble at the end of the match.
She was in perfect control of the games, 11/5 in 7m, and 11/3 in 6, but in the third, she suddenly started to make very surprising errors, 4 in 5 points. Rachel picked up her pace and game, and started to take the ball to the Egyptian, taking a little lead 5/3, 5/5, then 7/5, 7/7, before Hania gave it a big push, 10/7, 11/8 in 9m.
But as I was walking at the back of the court, I saw her with the doctor, laying on the floor, and I was told she was suffering from heatstroke. Not really surprising. I was finding it hard to breathe tonight, and I only typing on a keyboard…
“After the Worlds, we haven’t had much time to move on and recover from disappointment, this tournament is a little bit nicer to be able to get through easier so I can have more time to relax and move on and be mentally sharp for the next rounds so definitely this approach is not present right now.
“We’re going to see the response from me this week, hopefully, it’s more hunger at the end of the tournament.
I’m excited, I always enjoy playing against Joelle. It’s always tough and usually a five-game battle so I’m looking forward t to it, I’m glad I have the rest day tomorrow so I can recover and be ready for that match.”
